I think we all want to be deeply listened to and want to be truly heard, in all our glorious mess. And when this happens, a transformation takes place within us both: the sharer and the listener.
My therapeutic approach is to assist you in finding your own path to health, healing and self-awareness. My hope is that our time together becomes a space of belonging, a sacred space, where you can safely explore and know your true self, in all it’s dimensions.
I have a Masters degree in Social Work from Loyola University Chicago. I have clinical experience in addiction treatment and recovery, community based disability advocacy, neurodiverse clients, outdoor experiential education and groupwork, and experience working with Veterans. I enjoy working with a diverse clientele and I consider myself an experiential learner and practitioner. I have experience in a hospital setting with people with traumatic brain injury, moral injury and trauma injuries, where I also worked with their families and caregivers.
I’m interested in all parts of our human condition. I like the expression that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. And I’m curious about how that resonates and about our psycho-spiritual inner landscape. I think our world - from our individual homes out to the wider wider itself - is disconnected from this. The intersection between body, mind and spirit is a portal to greater peace. I’m also lately particularly aware of the challenges in parenting, caregiving, and those in helping professions.
My experiences have spanned the range of adults and emerging adults, and in all life transitions. I am trained as a massage therapist which informs my practice. The more embodied we can can stay, the better. I am a mama to two young kids and I am married to an Iraq War Veteran.
Approach
I believe in a collaborative and holistic approach to therapy where mind, body and soul are all considered. I can work with you toward an awareness and loosening of the patterns that have left you unable to live as authentically and healthfully as you might like.
